London Fashion Week : Plus size models steal the show – Again !!
London Fashion Week has come round once again; and, once again, it seems the media are playing the ‘plus size’ model card because it’s a bit of a hot topic right now. Whilst we are very happy to see some ‘positive’ coverage for this important issue, we still feel everyone seems to be overlooking the fact that most designers showing at LFW do not produce any clothing above a size 10!! Try buying a designer dress in a size 18 or 20 in your favourite department store or your local designer shop. Try going shopping as a size 18 with your size 10 friend and see if you can buy anything in the same store — let alone by the same designer.
Plus size models are bringing the “bigger is beautiful too” issue into focus but we still have some way to go.

I LOVE this!! I think it’s great that they are starting realize that us normal women are the way to go.
This is a very positive news story. I love that Kate Smith wants to drop the word ‘plus’ – I couldn’t agree more. But to make it fair — if a girl is a natural size zero, and healthy – that’s OK too! I hope that the US starts to accept size diversity as much as the UK is willing to.
