Fashion Tips from annascholz Model, Lucy
Lucy Freeman has modelled for Anna Scholz several times over the past few seasons. She has a versatile look and a fabulous personality that shine through in her photographs.
She wrote us recently to talk about what she has been up to and her current fashion fetishes and style inspirations.
I’ve been feeling very summery of late (thank you, British weather, for finally relenting and bringing us some glorious sunshine!) and in line with that, my whole wardrobe has undergone quite the transformation.
Taking inspiration from Mad Men (Cristina Hendricks is a voluptuous goddess in my humble opinion) I mixed vintage pieces with high street and have some fabulous outfits ready to be unleashed on my next evening out or weekend jaunt!
Key pieces included floral and argyle-style fitted cardigans, polka dot and simple blouses/shirts and a-line and full skirts to create that hourglass shape so perfect for us curvy ladies!
Also, in an attempt to jazz up my usually lazy hairstyling (I often just let my long hair hang as is), I’ve also been taken in by the myriad of silk scarves in vintage stores. I highly recommend the shop To Be Worn Again in Brighton for scarves and for gorgeous, one-of-a-kind dresses and skirts.
Another great find, thanks to friends’ word-of-mouth, is LouLou Loves You, which I first came across on an underwear hunt but which has branched out to much, much more, including these beautiful floral headbands.
If you’re a lover of vintage-inspired fashion and retro originals, I also follow the blog of the wonderful ladies of French Kiss Vintage. I follow them on Twitter too, as they have competitions where you can win one-off pieces to brighten up your wardrobe!

The Body Beautiful
Crystal Renn looks amazing in V Magazine’s issue #66, “The Sexy Body Issue,” which celebrates breasts, bums and general centrefoldiness.
Hitting newsstands July 8th, “The Sexy Body Issue” highlights 50 of the world’s most bangin’ bodies, as seen by Mario Testino, Willy Vanderperre, Glen Luchford, Arny Freytag, and more.
Home, Sweet Home!
I recently bought a Victorian townhouse in London and renovated it for 6 months.
I finally moved in at the end of May and had my housewarming party on Jun 20– which was also the 20-year anniversary of me living in London!
I thought I’d wait until I have better pictures, but here we go…From when I bought it, to destruction, to the end — or the new beginning, as I like to think of it.

Here Kitty Kitty…
I’ve heard of letting the cat out of the bag, but…
How adorable is this little kitty bag? It’s made by the Atlanta-based artist RandomIntent. She is selling a number of her pieces on this fantastic website called Etsy.
The same artist also created this little eyeball handbag. I am fascinated by it…looks like something Jabba the Hutt’s girlfriend would carry (did he have a girlfriend?). Good luck finding shoes to match.
Hard to believe these two bags sprung from the same mind! But they are for totally different occasions, obviously.
Which is your favourite?
Amore-more-more-more!
I love this song, “Make Love”, and its video! It really makes me smile. The singer is Joe Cang, a friend of my dear friend Lucille. The video was directed by Dash Lilley with Rebecca Nassauer as art director. Enjoy!
Congratulations! Amanda Reynolds is our June Customer Photo Competition Winner
Here’s Amanda “working the monochrome look– with coordinating AS outfit and my beloved mini!”

Fresh on the Scene!
Liz Ayerle of Fresh Ayer boutique looked amazing in Anna’s silk hydrangea print maxi dress at Full Figured Fashion Week in Manhattan.
Anna was sorry not to be able to attend FFFW. The four-day event was organised by former plus-size model Gwen DeVoe. FFFW included a runway model competition, panel discussions on the industry and, of course, designs for bodies size 16 and above. Our friends at Madison Plus were there and said it was a smashing success.

SimplyBe Fans Represent!
We’ve received some lovely photos recently from customers wearing their favourite SimplyBe ensembles.
For a number of years, Anna has designed clothing and bedding for the online and catalogue retailer SimplyBe.
Since they were so kind as to send the photos to us, we thought we’d share them with you too!
“This was me (mother of the bride) at my daughter Linsey’s wedding last month,” Trudi wrote us. “I searched high and low for the right dress and was thrilled to find this one of yours from SimplyBe. It was lovely to wear and I felt cool and comfortable all day.”
Naomi sent us this photo “of me and my friends having the best time in Kos, Greece. Wearing my very favourite Anna Scholz for SimplyBe tankini…“.
“I love this dress so much!” wrote Jessica. “I wore it for Ladies Day at Royal Ascot and received many compliments! My husband Simon took the photo in our garden.”
Let the Sun Shine In…
Went to see the feel-good summer musical HAIR last night with my English family of friends (our gang).
Really good fun! Enjoyed the vocal performance of the powerful lead singer.
