Click and Be Counted!
Calling all plus fashionistas: our friend, Meieli Sawyer, at the About Plus-Size Fashion blog is now accepting nominations for her website’s Readers’ Choice Awards.
The 2011 About.com Readers’ Choice Awards will showcase the best products, features and services in dozens of categories.
The About Plus-Size Fashion section of the awards will be accepting nominations in the following categories: Best Plus-Size Designer [THIS IS WHERE YOU VOTE FOR ANNA SCHOLZ!!], Best Plus-Size Model, Best Full-Figured Sports Bra, Best Wide-Foot Shoe Shop, Best Plus-Size Online Deals, Best Extended-Size Jeans, Best Etsy Shop with Plus Offerings, Best Plus Multibrand Vendor, and Best Plus-Size Fashion Magazine.
Nominations are being accepted now. Voting will take place through March 8, with winners announced March 15. There’s no prize — just the bragging rights that come with getting recognized by the readers of a leading website. To cast your votes in the plus-size categories, click here.
Viva La Curvy Revolution…and Las Vegas!
Our friends at the cool blog Madison Plus reported back to us about their amazing experience as media sponsors at The Curvy Revolution in Las Vegas last weekend.
The weekend was packed with activities from work-shops to fashion shows, discussion panels to a modeling competition.
While hanging poolside at Planet Hollywood, the gals from Madison Plus staged an impromptu fashion shoot with plus models, Kelsey Arif and Anne-Sophie– complete with Anna Scholz pieces from the designer’s latest Spring-Summer 2011 collection. How amazing do they look? (The sunshine in Vegas is looking pretty good to us in rainy London Anna Scholz HQ right about now too.)
Kelsey Arif was the winner of the model search held by UK website Plus-Size-Tall.com and Ann-Sophie won the search held by French website Ma-Grande-Taille.com.

Does This Make Me Look Boxy?
OK, so he’s not exactly eligible to enter our blog’s customer photo competition; but we couldn’t resist sharing this photo of customer Lisa Conway’s kitty, Teddytails, working an Anna Scholz look in his own way!
“Anna’s clothes arrive so lovingly packaged with all that beautiful pink tissue,” Lisa wrote us, “and I think that’s why this AS box has been his most favourite place to relax.”
The Test of Time: Irina Werning goes Back to the Future
Buenos Aires-based photographer, Irina Werning has started an ongoing series of photographs called “Back to the Future” in which she has subjects re-enact childhood photographs. The clothing and backgrounds are amazingly and painstakingly re-created. Faces may change over time, but certain qualities of appearance and personality always shine through.
“I love old photos,” Irina writes on her website. “I admit being a nosy photographer. As soon as I step into someone else’s house, I start sniffing for them. Most of us are fascinated by their retro look but to me, it’s imagining how people would feel and look like if they were to reenact them today… by the way, this project made me realise I’m a bit obsessive…”
