This Thursday, the third annual Full Figured Fashion Week will kick off in New York. This highly anticipated event is on from June 16-18, and will feature fashion shows, press and blogger events, sample sales, trunk shows, and a guided shopping tour around New York’s plus-size stores. The price of admission gains you access to many of these exclusive events, and a jump on the latest developments in the plus-size fashion industry.

FFFW celebrates the sizes that are ignored by the mainstream fashion world and spotlights both established and up-and-coming plus-size designers. Organizer, Gwen Devoe is expecting over 1,000 attendees at the grand finale showcase. “It’s been crazy,” Devoe told NYDailyNews.com. “It’s just exploding … We have money to spend, and we’re happy to give it to the designers and stores who help us celebrate our curves.”

Anna and our sales manager, Darren, had a blast hosting a special shopping day at the Emma Plus shop in Brighton last Saturday. The store offered a number of new styles to customers as well as nibbles and good conversation. Lots of women came — some sporting cool vintage Anna Scholz designs — and tried on tons of clothes.

Anna’s gearing up for her visit this Saturday, May 7 to the Emma Plus shop in Brighton for a special in-store event. For this one day, the shop will be featuring a number of styles from Anna’s  Spring-Summer 2011 collection that aren’t usually available at the store.

Anna herself will be there from 2-5 pm to meet and mingle and offer expert fashion advice. There also will be a special prize drawing for £250 worth of Anna Scholz clothing.

You must pre-register for the drawing, so please visit the Emma Plus forum/blog to register and for detailed information about directions and parking on the day.

Our friends at the cool blog Madison Plus reported back to us about their amazing experience as media sponsors at The Curvy Revolution in Las Vegas last weekend.

The weekend was packed with activities from work-shops to fashion shows, discussion panels to a modeling competition.

While hanging poolside at Planet Hollywood, the gals from Madison Plus staged an impromptu fashion shoot with plus models, Kelsey Arif and Anne-Sophie– complete with Anna Scholz pieces from the designer’s latest Spring-Summer 2011 collection. How amazing do they look? (The sunshine in Vegas is looking pretty good to us in rainy London Anna Scholz HQ right about now too.)

Kelsey Arif was the winner of the model search held by UK website Plus-Size-Tall.com and Ann-Sophie won the search held by French website Ma-Grande-Taille.com.

We’re very excited about first annual The Curvy Revolution convention happening February 18-20 2011  in Las Vegas.

Produced by Full Figures, the largest plus size organisation in the US, The Curvy Revolution promises to be a dynamic and interactive experience designed to celebrate, inform and inspire plus size women. It will include work shops, vendor expos, discussion panels, fashion shows, a Miss Curve competition and a charity Pink & Black Tie Gala event.

The Curvy Revolution is “a philanthropic experience,” explain the event’s organisers. It is “dedicated to improving the quality of life of today’s average size woman, the plus size woman.” Its mission is to further women’s health in mind, body and soul.

Our friends from the fabulous Madison Plus blog will be there as media sponsors. Anna Scholz has sent along some tempting gift vouchers for Madison Plus to include in their swag bags.

Last weekend, my wife, Sharon, and I attended the inaugural Plus London fashion blogger event. It was a great opportunity for bloggers from across the UK and Europe to mingle, swap ideas and, of course, do a little shopping!

The event was co-organised by the lovely Lauren, author of Pocket Rocket, and the equally lovely Valerie, who helms Blog to Be Alive and came all the way from Belgium.

Everyone involved organised an amazing event which included shopping in the daytime and a party in the evening. During the party, the atmosphere was buzzing, the opinions were flying, the champagne was cold and, of course the Anna Scholz Spring-Summer 2011 collection looked smashing. Many of the women tried on Anna’s latest pieces. It’s always fun to see a variety of real women bring the collection to life.

Earlier in October, Anna Scholz was very pleased to contribute a number of outfits to the Breast Cancer Care Show, which took place at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London.

Each year, this special event provides the opportunity for a glamorous makeover and a runway moment to people diagnosed with breast cancer. The Show “focuses on showing that despite a diagnosis of breast cancer, the experience of surgery and often dramatic implications to self image, people diagnosed with breast cancer can look and feel absolutely fantastic.”

This year, 23 women and one man gave it their all on the catwalk, showing off professional styling by the talented Rachel Fanconi. Guests also had the opportunity to rub elbows with a host of celebrities attending the event.

“The clothes and styling this year were just stunning,” wrote Samia al Qadhi, Chief Executive of Breast Cancer Care. “[I]t was the most stylish catwalk show we have ever had.”

Earlier this month, Anna Scholz and the designer’s long-term stockist, Beige, came together to create a special fashion event for the Autumn-Winter 2010 season.

The Beige team– lead by shop owner Leanda– gave personal styling advice and customers had the chance to meet Anna herself.

Customers enjoyed champagne and canapés while browsing a special selection of the new annascholz Autumn-Winter 2010 collection at the shop’s New Cavendish Street location in London.

Leanda and the Beige team pulled out all the stops, creating a beautiful window reflecting the “Putting on the Ritz” theme Anna conveyed in her Autumn-Winter ‘10 photo campaign.

We were delighted so many customers came along and bought from the collection. As you can see, there was something for everyone.

During our trip to New York last month to show the collection, our friends Erica and Aimee from the Madison Plus blog, helped Darren and me to organise a customer, stockist and blogger event. It was a fantastic opportunity for us to meet and reunite with customers, shop owners and bloggers, who are all so vital to the fashion industry.

We sipped some bubbly, caught up on the gossip and tried on lots of clothes! It was great to see so many beautiful women in different shapes, sizes and ages in our dresses.

The gorgeous Nikki Gomez won our raffle and chose our cool stretch tailoring black zip dress as her prize.

Jessica Svoboda offered her fabulous jeans and fellow designer Monif C stopped by too.

Our stockists, Jaclyn from Voluptuous Vixen, Liz from Fresh Ayer and Laura from Lola & Gigi showed their support and struck a few poses. Everyone really brought the Spring-Summer 2011 collection to life!
