Em Reviews Anna’s New Dresses
The fabulous blogger and all-around great woman, Em, has posted another lovely review of select pieces from Anna’s Spring-Summer 2012 collection on her own blog, Oh, The Places You’ll Go!
This time, Em has featured the kaleidoscope print crepe de chine frill pocket dress and the crayon print digital jersey frill sleeve tie dress.
As usual, Em looks amazing in the dresses and always has interesting and useful things to say about why the clothes work for her.
Visit Em’s blog for the full review of Anna’s latest styles.
Plus Model Awards 2012
The Spring-Summer 2012 collection by Anna Scholz was showcased recently at the third annual Plus Model Awards. On March 3rd, the finalists modelled Anna’s collection, which was provided by John Ooms Agenturen, our agent for the Benelux region.
“Beauty doesn’t come in a size 6 only” is the slogan of the Plus Model Awards, which is organized by VZW Model Events for women sized 12 and up from Belgium and The Netherlands.
Sanne Bril from Belgium won the Plus Fashion Model 2012 Award (size 12-14/16), And Yvonne Huizing from The Netherlands won the Plus Model 2012 Award (size 16 and up).
Who Will Be Crowned the Burger Queen?
In a bid to be “more outrageous in 2012″, the woman who helms the blog Pocket Rocket Fashion, has entered the Burger Queen beauty pageant. Her heat is later this week– we look forward to hearing how she did!
The contest is organised by the OTT performer and director Scottee (check out the interview with him on the Pocket Rocket Fashion blog).
The first part of the The Burger Queen beauty contest blurb reads:
Scottee welcomes you back for a super sized second helping of his infamous beauty pageant Burger Queen! Every Thursday in March, he will be whittling down a wide range of fantastic fatties in his unique game show for fat people. Each chunky contestant will endure three rounds designed to find the perfect chub to be crowned Burger Queen 2012. Rounds include trend (flaunting your fat fashion), taste (your signature dish served to our judges) and talent (light entertainment for heavyweights).
Hoofing It
The German shoe designer and artist, Iris Schieferstein, has created a somewhat controversial and apparently none-too-comfortable line of shoes made from taxedermised animal parts.
The shoe-creations include pistols combined with horses hooves, stuffed doves and snake heads. Unsurprisingly, Lady Gaga is a big fan.
What do you think of these pumps? To die for, or just dead?

Anna’s Spring-Summer 2012 Collection Available on saksfifthavenue.com
We’re loving the way Anna’s current collection looks on saksfifthavenue.com
Anna’s collections have been available for the past few seasons on the Salon Z section of this luxurious US-based website. Saks has a few styles available that we won’t have on our own website, so it’s definitely worth checking out to make sure you’ve covered all of your options. There’s a nifty video option on the website as well, which is always helpful.

Anna Glams Up “The ‘Dam”
Fans got a sneak preview of Anna’s Autumn-Winter 2012 collection last month at a special runway show in Amsterdam. The catwalk show was presented by Daphne Ooms, our agent for the Benelux region, as a forum for showcasing the plus size clothing labels she represents. Anna traveled to Amsterdam to attend the show and was thrilled with the styling of the models.
Hot New Magazine: Vol.Up.2!
We’re loving this new online magazine, Vol.Up.2, published by Velvet d’Amour, who is the Editor, Creator, Art Director and Photographer (as well as being a good friend of Anna’s). The theme of this edition of the magazine is “Ecstasy”. The numerous editorials in the magazine celebrate not only the sex appeal of the curvier figure, but all kinds beauty in non-”mainstream” packaging.
Anna did a sexy photo shoot at her house with Velvet for the issue:
Some of Anna’s designs also were featured in an editorial entitled “Rock The Boat”:

Plus London Two Stops by the Anna Scholz Studio
This past Saturday, Anna Schlolz was pleased to host a fashion preview for the Plus London Two blogger conference.
Plus London Two was organised by Clare Marchant-Williams in order to bring together “fatshion” bloggers from the UK and Europe so that they could meet and share ideas. Their busy itinerary included an afternoon with Anna Scholz, trying on the Spring-Summer 2012 collection and meeting the designer herself.
We all had a great time modeling clothes, eating cupcakes and gabbing. As ever, it was great fun to see these ultra fashionable women modeling Anna’s latest looks.
There also was a Q&A session with Anna where all the bloggers were able to discuss the plus size fashion industry and to ask Anna questions.
Watch this space for more photos from the event and for links to the attendees’ blogs!
