Slam Dunk!
This amazing quilt was made by a young artist from Iceland named Siggi Eggertsson!
“For my graduation project in The Iceland Academy of the Arts I made a quilt,” she writes, “based on my childhood memories. The size of it is 2×2.5 meters, and it’s made out of 10.000 pieces.”

Get an Eyeful
The artwork of illustrator Josephine Chime is currently on exhibition at The Cube gallery in East London in a show called Hold Onto More.
Her work features “oversized women, with curves, who transmit a special positive energy,” says Chime. “Beautiful and happy with their own bodies.”
After July, Chime’s work can be seen at The Hackney Wicked Art Festival.
What do you think of her work?

My BTEC is Finally Com-pleated!
I recently completed a BTEC certification in Pattern Cutting Level II. I first became interested in pattern cutting during my work placement here at Anna Scholz. It has been a long journey and I’m still a long way from being as talented as our in-house pattern cutter, Stefanie; but I have learned a lot!
Thought I’d share a few photos of me modelling my final project. Our assignment was to design a garment, draft a full production pattern and sew the garment. I made a little party dress with an intersecting bodice dart (pretty fancy stuff, eh?) and side pleats that match up at the side seam.
Note of interest: the side pleats on my dress are directly inspired by one of Anna’s dresses in the upcoming Autumn-Winter 2010 collection! Anna’s crepe jersey dress with side pleats is definitely something to look forward to– we’re all in love with it here at the studio.
My design?…Well, I don’t think it will burning up any runways anytime soon. But I did enjoy making it.
