Drawings by dogs

October 18th, 2013 12:30 pm

An avid lover of Anna’s companion Frida, this new exhibition struck up an interest with us here in the office. Drawings by dogs  is a showcase of paintings created by no other than our four legged canine friends. As the website states it seems there’s a Picasso, Poussin or Pollock in every pooch.

” The finished piece all depends on how hungry the dog is. The more voracious their appetite the more expressive the art.’

The exhibition is a week-long affair running until 20th October 2013 (12pm – 7pm. 17th and 18th until 9pm.) No appointments are necessary for you to bring along your future artist to showcase its talents.

The pieces are available for purchase, with all the proceeds go to Battersea Dogs and Cats Home.

This Took a Doggone Long Time!

April 29th, 2012 10:00 am

I just had to share this needlepoint creation because it took me about a year and a half to finish! It’s for my stepmother. She wants one for each dog she has owned in her life. This is the Springer Spaniel and he’s called “The Viscount”. I’ve now started the Dalmation who’s called “The Aristocrat”.

Every so often while I was working on it, I’d look down and think, “Wow, I’m spending hours of my life needlepointing a dog in aristocratic clothing! What does this say about me?”

Needless to say, she was most appreciative. Luckily she does needlepoint herself, so she understands how time-consuming it is. She says never give needlepoint away to someone who doesn’t do it themselves.
